The ICMA Annual General Meeting and Conference is the leading event in the capital market calendar, bringing together representatives from both the buy and sell side of the financial industry, together with its regulators, issuers and central banks to debate the issues affecting the global market.
The 2009 ICMA Conference in Montreux featured sessions on the fundamental issues surrounding the future of the international financial system, the need to create market stability and the likely impact of impending regulation. Panels of experts considered specific challenges for investors and issuers in the capital markets, private banking, and market infrastructure.
The ICMA conference was attended by over 400 capital market professionals, drawn from ICMA’s member firms in 46 countries and capital market participants outside ICMA's membership. The conference programme provided plenty of opportunities to meet colleagues in the industry from all over the globe. The successful dedicated networking platform introduced at last year’s conference again allowed delegates to arrange meetings in Montreux in advance of the event.
