ICMA has commissioned a series of research reports, covering topics of interest or concern to member firms and the financial markets as a whole. Initially, the reports began as a means of using the resources available at the ICMA Centre in ways that would benefit market participants.

ICMA research reports have provided knowledge and comment in important areas such as risk management, the effect of derivatives on the international securities market and the introduction of the European single currency.
