Event overview

ICMA was pleased to partner with Ashurst for a virtual event on Net Zero and the Asia-Pacific Capital Markets on 20 April 2021.

Keynote presentations were provided by Mr. OMOTE Takashi, Deputy Director-General for Environment, Energy and Innovation at Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry; and Dr. MA Jun, Chairman, Green Finance Committee of the China Society of Finance and Banking.

A panel of climate and industry experts shared their views and expertise on questions facing the regional market:
  • What does net zero carbon actually mean? (And what does it not mean)
  • What are the essential characteristics of a credible net zero national policy or corporate strategy, and where can these go wrong?
  • What are the implications of national net zero pledges for the sustainable finance markets in Asia?
  • Where are the potential opportunities and risks for investors?

ICMA is recognized by the Securities and Futures Commission (“SFC”) as an approved Continuous Professional Training (“CPT”) course provider. To request a proof of attendance, please email events@icmagroup.org.  To qualify, participants are required to attend the full duration of this event via the individual link.
