24 February 2020 With the April 2020 implementation date now on the horizon ICMA has published its definitive ‘how to’ guide to reporting repo transactions under the new SFTR framework. The detailed best practice recommendations give additional guidance on the practical requirements of reporting and are the product of collaborative industry discussions coordinated through ICMA’s dedicated SFTR Task Force. The recommendations have already played a key role in the dialogue with regulators and numerous sections have been reflected in ESMA's guidance.

ICMA members joined us for a one hour webinar on the launch day, which gave a high level introduction to reporting under SFTR and the scope of the guide as well as a discussion on the state of industry preparations less than 2 months ahead of the reporting go-live.

The webinar was hosted by ICMA’s Richard Comotto and Alex Westphal who were joined by two members of the SFTR Task Force, Craig Laird (Morgan Stanley), who is chairing the group, and Ben Campion (UBS).
