Event Overview

The annual winter gathering, hosted by the ICMA Region for Switzerland & Liechtenstein, will take place in Zermatt on 24-26 January 2020. The weekend, typically brings together over 150 regional representatives from across Europe including from the UK, Germany, France, Austria, Luxembourg and Denmark as well as Switzerland. This makes it an ideal opportunity to exchange views and experiences with peers in the cross-border bond market and the Switzerland and Liechtenstein capital market community.

Open to ICMA's entire global membership, as well as to non-members, this long-standing annual event features includes two evening receptions as well as ski and snowboarding races. Times and locations of individual events to follow.

Admission: This event is free of charge to ICMA members with a limit of 3 delegates per member firm. Additional delegate spaces may be purchased by members at a rate of CHF 250 + VAT. Non-members may attend; however, must pay an admission fee of CHF 600 + VAT. Registration in advance is essential.

Zermatt overview


On the Italian border of the canton of Valais in the west of Switzerland, at the end of the 30 km-long Nikolaital, lies Zermatt, the village at the foot of the Matterhorn, the most photographed mountain in the world. Zermatt epitomizes their image of Switzerland: high-alpine, awe-inspiring and original. Almost one-third of the 4,000-metre mountains in the Alps are grouped around this word-famous health resort, which has been visited by mountaineers from all around the world since the first successful ascent of the Matterhorn in 1865. The hotels and restaurants are world-class, and the ski area is not only the highest in the Alps – it is also one of the best developed and most convenient in the world, ensuring thrilling sporting experiences on the steepest slopes in the world – and that 365 days a year. The climate is of an excellent quality: with 300 sunny days a year, there is less rainfall than anywhere else in Switzerland. The air in Zermatt is clear, dry and clean, because, since 1947, only electric cars without a combustion engine are allowed to operate in the village.

Terms and Conditions

I understand that my reservation for this event shall be accepted and confirmed if ICMA sends me a respective confirmation in writing within 3 business days from receipt of my registration. I also understand that if ICMA does not send me such confirmation within the specified period my reservation could not be considered.

I agree that ICMA shall have the right to cancel events at its own discretion for any reason (including e.g. if a sufficient minimum number of participants is not reached before the start date of the relevant event). In the event of such cancellation, I agree that ICMA shall not be liable for any expenses incurred by me, my employer, or anyone else on my behalf, due to the cancellation.

In case I want to cancel my reservation for this event I shall notify ICMA (attention Events team) in writing without delay. For any paid delegate places, I agree to the following cancellation fees being applied by ICMA:

until the 30th business day before the start date of the relevant course = 10%
from the 29th business day to the 15th business day before the start date of the relevant course = 50%
from the 14th business day to the last business day before the start date of the relevant course = 75%
on or after the start date of the relevant course = 100%

I understand that substitutions can be made subject to the condition that ICMA (attention Events team) is notified accordingly in writing and provided with the details of the substitute (see 1. above) not later than 48 hours before the relevant event commences.

I agree that ICMA and its affiliate entities may retain the information supplied on this form on a database and use it for the purpose of course and event administration, and, IF I have ticked the relevant boxes above, to compile a delegate list (including my name and that of my employer) to be distributed at the event in hard copy or to other registered delegates in electronic form as well as for the purposes of advertising future courses and events and promoting ICMA.

Delegates should be aware that a photographer may be on site throughout the event. The photographs taken at this event may be used in future promotional materials.


Attendance at this event is free of charge to ICMA members only up to a limit of 3 per firm. Additional delegates from a member firm will be charged a discounted registration fee of CHF 250 + 7.7% VAT. All non-members will be charged a registration fee of CHF 600 + 7.7% VAT. Payable by credit card or on receipt of invoice.

Delegates are responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel, accommodation and ski passes.

Please ensure that you have completed your registration, paid any registration fees and booked your travel and accommodation well in advance to enable you to attend this event. Delegates must book their own accommodation directly with the hotels and are responsible for their own travel costs and arrangements.
