ICMA Future Leaders was set up by ICMA to reach out to the ‘next generation’ of market professionals and help them to tap into ICMA’s services, which are open to employees of all ICMA member firms.

ICMA Future Leaders’ events run throughout the year in major European financial centres and are open to fixed income professionals in all areas of the business at ICMA member firms. At these you can meet your peers and be part of the wider ICMA community.

ICMA Future Leaders is led by a steering committee of individuals in the early stages of their career, to provide the Association with guidance and input on how ICMA can communicate with the rising generation of finance professionals, as well as ideas on events and initiatives. The committee members currently represent the main ICMA regions in Europe and Asia Pacific.

He was also a visiting student at Carlos III university in Madrid, Spain and at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany.

In recent years, the regulatory and market environment for financial institutions has been growing increasingly complex. This backdrop has created difficulties as well as opportunities across asset classes, and in light of those changes, the industry needs strong bodies like ICMA to prepare it for the challenges ahead and to identify future opportunities. The FLC initiative aims to include the actors of tomorrow’s markets in today’s decisions, which is key to encouraging best practice across markets and generations.

Grégoire Denoy

I was born in 1987 in Guadeloupe, French West Indies. Graduated from the Advanced Master in Financial Techniques at ESSEC Business School in Paris, I began my career in the financial sector 6 years ago. I am currently working for Natixis CIB Global Markets as a project manager, mainly on debt capital market issues.

I decided to join the ICMA Future Leaders initiatives in order to further deepen my professional skills on capital markets and more particularly on debt capital markets. I would be glad to work on projects and share ideas on key trends and future challenges of our industry with people from my generation. Moreover, this is a great opportunity to be part of a community of young colleagues from different countries in order to compare and to share best practices, but also to connect and enhance our respective careers. I would be most keen to contribute and attend to the professional events and conferences set up by the ICMA.

When he joined, his main focus was mostly on FX and Money Market for the banking books of ING Bank in Amsterdam. Since two years approximately he has added a strong focus on fixed income products such as repo and collateral swaps for the purpose of steering the bank’s (regulatory) liquidity position. His experience within the treasury of a global bank in the area of funding and liquidity management will be of added value because it can add a fresh angle to the fixed income experience within the FLC.

He views his membership of the FLC committee as a great opportunity to facilitate young professionals to connect with the established leaders within the financial industry of the Netherlands and abroad. This will help both generations to benefit from each other’s view on different challenges that the industry is currently facing.

Furthermore, having seen the quality of the panels at the AGM in Amsterdam earlier this year, I look forward to working more with my colleagues at the FLC.
