In recent years, the regulatory and market environment for financial institutions has been growing increasingly complex. This backdrop has created difficulties as well as opportunities across asset classes, and in light of those changes, the industry needs strong bodies like ICMA to prepare it for the challenges ahead and to identify future opportunities. The FLC initiative aims to include the actors of tomorrow’s markets in today’s decisions, which is key to encouraging best practice across markets and generations.

I was born in 1987 in Guadeloupe, French West Indies. Graduated from the Advanced Master in Financial Techniques at ESSEC Business School in Paris, I began my career in the financial sector 6 years ago. I am currently working for Natixis CIB Global Markets as a project manager, mainly on debt capital market issues.

I decided to join the ICMA Future Leaders initiatives in order to further deepen my professional skills on capital markets and more particularly on debt capital markets. I would be glad to work on projects and share ideas on key trends and future challenges of our industry with people from my generation. Moreover, this is a great opportunity to be part of a community of young colleagues from different countries in order to compare and to share best practices, but also to connect and enhance our respective careers. I would be most keen to contribute and attend to the professional events and conferences set up by the ICMA.

Davy Djasmadi

Born in 1989 in the Netherlands, growing up in the countryside, he decided after finishing his pre-university secondary education (vwo) that it was time to experience life in the big city. After his experience in the USA, he moved to Paris for an 8 months internship in Equity Derivatives Sales at Commerzbank, followed by another internship at NYSE Euronext in the ETFs, Funds & Structured Products team. This resulted in him joining the Fixed Income team of Euronext in October 2013 to help further develop their secondary fixed income markets by focusing on development of services, strategy, pricing and liquidity.

“In my role as vice chairman of the ICMA Future Leaders committee (FLC), I am delighted to help connect young finance professionals like myself with the value of ICMA, focusing on career progression, education and networking.“

Kumsa Gebremariam, currently 29 years old, born and raised in Maastricht, Netherlands. He graduated end of 2012 from Maastricht University, Master’s degree in International Business - Controlling. Directly after university he joined ING Bank as a trader at the Liquidity Management desk of the treasury. When he joined, his main focus was mostly on FX and Money Market for the banking books of ING Bank in Amsterdam. Since two years approximately he has added a strong focus on fixed income products such as repo and collateral swaps for the purpose of steering the bank’s (regulatory) liquidity position. His experience within the treasury of a global bank in the area of funding and liquidity management will be of added value because it can add a fresh angle to the fixed income experience within the FLC.

He views his membership of the FLC committee as a great opportunity to facilitate young professionals to connect with the established leaders within the financial industry of the Netherlands and abroad. This will help both generations to benefit from each other’s view on different challenges that the industry is currently facing.

Being at the forefront of technological changes is essential for the desk to offer clients tailor made solutions to their problems.

Jonas frequently speaks at international conferences as an expert speaker in front of a wide audience and participates in panels about specific fixed income market related topics.

I was immediately thrilled after having heard about the Future Leaders Initiative as this is exactly what a place like Madrid needs. Offering young professionals a platform to interact with each other, share their knowledge about fixed income related topics and discuss especially the challenges that are lying ahead of us due to technology changes is certainly a unique opportunity and a good addition to the spanish marketplace. I love to encourage participants to dive deeper into the world of fixed income markets and I am convinced that we will be a able to create a group dynamic that enables everyone to strive and progress.

Combining forces with a group young colleagues from various countries in his view is the ideal platform to be able to make a change.

My name is Anna, I am 27 and I was born in Bonn, Germany. After school, I started the Bachelor's programme in Business Administration in Münster, a lively student city in Germany with bikes everywhere. I moved to Vienna, Austria for the Master's degree, specializing in Finance & Accounting. Various internships in Germany and abroad, in Beijing, China and New York City, USA helped me to gain useful insights into different business areas within the finance segment. I started working at KfW as a trainee in the Financial Markets department, seeing all different facets of capital markets, before I joined the Funding team in 2015.

I am very happy to be part of the FLC and am highly motivated to inspire other young professionals to get involved with ICMA and take advantage of its range of services offered. In a group of many young like-minded people, it will be a mutual benefit to deepen the cross-cultural exchange. I am looking forward to seeing the community of young colleagues across borders growing!
