Overview

The ICMA Asia-Pacific Primary Market Forum will return to Hong Kong this September, bringing together a diverse range of market participants including underwriters, issuers, investors, intermediaries and the official sector to examine the evolving dynamics of the primary markets in Asia Pacific. As the region demonstrates sustained momentum, expanding market depth and a growing global footprint, this Forum serves as a timely platform to discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping its next phase of development.

Against a backdrop of shifting macroeconomic conditions, geopolitical uncertainty, and evolving investor demand, discussions will explore market execution dynamics, legal and documentation developments, and recent trends of international issuance in the debt capital markets. Through a series of keynotes and panel discussions, the Forum aims to offer a forward-looking perspective on the evolving funding landscape, including the continued development of local currency markets , transition finance, and market infrastructure digitalisation.

Admission: This event is free to attend and open to all interested market participants. Register now.

Please note that this event will be conducted in English.

Overview

The ICMA Primary Market Seminar provides an introduction to the practical workings of the primary international debt capital markets and the standards that underpin the primary bond market. Of interest especially for junior capital market professionals, the session will offer valuable insights into the conventions, documentation and processes that support bond issuance in international capital markets.

The seminar will focus on the ICMA Primary Market Handbook, the market's leading reference guide to best practice in the international debt capital markets. The Handbook brings together ICMA recommendations, guidance and standard approaches covering the entire bond issuance process, from mandate and structuring through syndication, allocation, pricing and settlement. For professionals entering the market, familiarity with the handbook provides a strong foundation for understanding how market participants interact and how transactions are executed consistently across jurisdictions.

Key speaker:
Ruari Ewing, Senior Director, Market Practice and Regulatory Policy, ICMA

The seminar is designed particularly for junior capital markets professionals. A light lunch will be provided.

Admission: The seminar is free to attend and open to employees of ICMA member firms, Primary Market Handbook subscribers and invited guests. Register now.
