Communications, Events and Education Over the course of 2024 ICMA has enhanced its content communication and events to better deliver value and insight to serve the growing requirements of its global membership. The ICMA team produced a broad range of high-quality resources, ensuring members remained informed and engaged with the latest market developments, regulatory insights, and industry trends. Publications and multimedia Our flagship publication, the Quarterly Report reached its 75th edition in October 2024. The publication is despatched to nearly 50,000 contacts globally after each calendar quarter end to inform members, market participants and regulatory authorities of our activity and thought leadership. Results of a recent survey issued to members have cemented its position as a well respected publication. Events We have held a total of 45 ICMA events and supported 54 industry events in nearly 20 venues across Europe, the Middle East and Asia in 2024, directly welcoming nearly 5,700 delegates. A key highlight was the 56th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Conference held in Brussels, which attracted over 1,100 senior professionals from 46 countries. The conference featured discussions on fixed income markets, geopolitical and regulatory landscapes, sustainability, and FinTech developments, providing valuable insights into the evolving capital markets. The 10th Annual Conference of the Principles in Amsterdam focused on the Green, Social, Sustainability, and Sustainability-Linked Bond Principles, which underpin a market representing $5 trillion in securities. The conference provided updates on 2024 guidance and facilitated discussions on global sustainable finance topics, including transition finance and market integrity. Following the success of the inaugural events in 2023 we held the 2nd ICMA FinTech & Digitalisation Forum in London. This full-day conference brought together industry leaders to discuss the automation and digitalization of capital markets, covering topics such as the evolution of the digital bond ecosystem and the impact of artificial intelligence. In addition to these flagship events, ICMA organized various regional and thematic gatherings, including the China Bond Market Forum in Beijing. Education & Training 2024 has been a year of both challenges and growth for ICMA Education & Training with positive feedback from delegates and growth in areas such as ICMA Diploma Programs and our online self-study course registrations. This year we delivered a series of open registration and in-house training courses to almost 1,200 delegates from firms spanning the breadth of the global debt capital markets including development banks, central banks, financial institutions, market infrastructures and more. Notable highlights include the successful delivery of our inaugural Dubai Programme (the first series of open registration programmes held in the Gulf region), collaboration with the Asian Institute of Digital Finance from the National University of Singapore on an AI governance course, positive feedback on new courses in asset management, Islamic finance and regulation, and the launch of the inaugural ICMA Education & Training vlog/podcast series entitled “Let’s Talk Markets”. Looking ahead to 2025 we are excited to launch a series of new courses on AI, Transition Finance and Data Science for Fixed Income, along with a new ‘ICMA-Certified’ initiative plus a series of strategic partnerships and capacity building projects as well as expanding our vlog/podcast series. |
